Elections for the new ITRA National Representatives

As the term of the current ITRA National Representatives is coming to an end, elections are coming up for the next four-year term for these positions.

WHO CAN BECOME AN ITRA NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE?

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • For the NATIONAL RUNNERS REPRESENTATIVES: Any ITRA runner member with a current membership who has nationality of the country or resides in the country they wish to represent.
  • For the NATIONAL ORGANIZER REPRESENTATIVES: Any person holding an official position within an entity that is an ITRA organizer member. The person will be a candidate in the country where the entity he or she represents is located.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Candidates must be familiar and agree with ITRA's ethics charter and its goals and have comprehensive knowledge of ITRA's principles and mission.
  • A great advantage will be a proven record of past activities for the development of the sport (non-profit or professional activities related to trail running).

The mission of national representatives is a volunteer activity. Applicants for this position are asked to be ready to donate their time to carry out this mission.

WHAT IS A ROLE OF THE ITRA NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVE?

  • They act to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the trail running at the level of their country while respecting the values of the trail runningdefended by the ITRA.
  • They represent all athletes or race organizers from their country at the ITRA General Assembly and present their voice to ITRA representative bodies.
  • They promote and spread awareness of the association's activities to runners and organizers in the country they represent.
  • They actively participate in and support trail running development activities at the national level - activities of national associations, establishing dialogue with the athletics federation and trail media in their country, initiatives, and discussions on trial running development.
  • They may be requested to represent ITRA at sporting events or gatherings in their country.

HOW TO BE ELECTEDED?

The elections will take place from 28 April 2023 to 5 May 2023.

National representatives are elected by the paid ITRA members of the group they represent. Only those with active membership are eligible to participate both passively and actively in elections.

LIST OF COUNTRIES WHERE ELECTIONS FOR NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVES WILL BE HELD

According to the ITRA statutes, elections for national representatives will be held in countries where a minimum number of paid-up members is met 60 days before the election:

  • 3 organizer members for elections for national organizer representatives,
  • 10 runner members for elections for national runner representatives.

For national representatives of organizers, elections will be organized in:

3. Send the completed form to elections@itra.run with the subject line: "National Representative of Runners (or National Representative of Organizers) + COUNTRY IN WHICH YOU ARE APPLYING’’

APPLICATION DEADLINE

You have until 28th of March, at 11:59 pm (Central European Time) to send us your application.  Applications sent after this deadline will not be considered in the further elections process.
