The first edition of charity magazine "HelpTheWorldNow" reports about hamara Bandhan e. V.'s Eye Camps. The magazine covers important national and international charity organisations and is available at doctor's offices and chemist's shops.
July 19th: Presentation of Eye Camps for classes 6a and b of Rechberggymnasium Donzdorf. Pupils make handicrafts, sell them at Donzdorf's town fair on July 22nd and donate proceeds to Hamara Bandhan
July 14th: The geography students committee in Heidelberg donates part of the proceedings of their biannual party to Hamara Bandhan

Projekt "Limra School in Gulbarga": The school was equipped with teaching kits and exercise books and the school building renovated.

Projekt "Hearing aids for Kollegal": We equipped about 50 pupils of Kollegal School for the Deaf with hearing aids. Two acousticians did the necessary individual adjustment of the hearing aids on the spot

Suddenly and unforeseen our member Mr. Henry Thomas from Bidar/India was overtaken by death on March 25th 2007. We lament a dear friend, who always showed commitment and dedication for our on-site projects. He had our respect and sympathy from the very first day. Mr. Henry Thomas is survived by his wife and two children. Mr. Henry Thomas

Pupils of class 6c of Ferdinand-von-Miller School, Fürstenfeldbruck, have created posters during their school project on India. They present them at their school's Christmas bazar, and collect donations for Hamara Bandhan's 'School for Gulbarga, India' Project.

Dear friends,
Today Mr.Henry Thomas and Mrs.Henry came over to our school and handed some five sewing machines and a small table and two Almarahs and stools and the necessary accessories. Five more sewing machines they will supply at the school on the 28th of this month. They took so much of pain to find the things and to hand the same to us. Our deep felt thanks for them and to you all. They have told us how to display your emblem and all and the other details.We will do the same at the earliest. Today we have celebrated 'ONAM' in our school. Children all enjoyed.

We are waiting to see the friends on the 30th.

3. 1. First talks with Velemegna Hospital, Golekhana, about a project contract. It seems that the total costs will be approximately as calculated by us and Dr Sybil Meshramkar, Director of Velemegna Hospital and Eye Specialist, seems to be very competent and committed.

Dear Thomas Sajo,

Wishing you a very happy new year. It was nice talking to you yesterday. As I had to work out all the costs, I did not reply last night. I remember you as a little boy. I hope this venture of yours with Velemegna will truly be successful by God’s grace.

I have gone through the contract and wanted to make few changes regarding the legal aspects. You could format it in this way:

Informed consent will be taken from the patient and his attender after explaining the pros and cons of surgery and the risks attributed to the surgery. Maximum care and all precautions will be taken by Velemegna to ensure smooth conduct of surgery and post-operative care. Any uneventful occurrence will be attended to immediately and any legal problems will be dealt under Bidar jurisdiction.

The rest of the contract seems ok. About the schedule, I would prefer one week of publicity in the last week of January 2006 in all the 4 Taluks mentioned by you. Each program will consist of one day of screening, one day of surgery and one day of discharging and transporting of patients back to their homes.

The last two weeks we were busy in trying to get some funds for our organisation for the planed eye camp. It's not easy, but we'r on a good way. Here everything is going on well and hope you are also doing well. Just as an information for you the coming 11th of November we are having a big meeting with all the members of the organisation. There will be a discussion and a collection of idears to the next 3 month, in particular the fundraising and planning and financial calculation of the eye camp.

For the website we'r allways looking for new indian proverbs and recipes. A lot of german people uses search engines on that topic, and then they will find our website and will get information on the eye camp. This is a good method to come in contact with other people.
